Congregatio de Institione

Catholica Vitae

On November 1, 2021, The Congregation for Catholic life was created in response to several priests, who having left the Modernist church wished to be formed as Traditional Catholic priests.

The Congregation is comprised of The Priests for the Restoration of Catholic Life and The Canon Regular of St John Vianney. The former is an association of priests, united under the spiritual jurisdiction of the bishops of the Congregation. These priests are committed to providing reverent and sound Traditional Liturgies, doctrine and Catholic culture. The latter, are priests, living in community and under the evangelical vows of poverty, Chastity and obedience living together and serving the need of a single parish.

The goal of the Congregation is to train men, both secular and religious to live in the spirit of the Sulpician reform that took place in Paris after the French Revolution. We wish to focus, as they did on the spiritual needs of their charges rather than their material comforts.

We have identified three primary marks as necessary to form true Catholic priests, they are: simplicity, authenticity and sacrifice.
